The TRACE filtration probe is intended for harvesting cell-free filtate from bioreactors and fermenters under sterile conditions.
A tubular microfiltration membrane made of polypropylene, positioned inside the bioreactor, serves as a sterile barrier. The filtration probe is sterilized together with the bioreactor. It is installed in the bioreactor cover port (12 mm with PG13.5 or 19 mm with adapter 19/12 mm) and side port (25 mm).
The cell-free filtrate is sampled continuously or discontinuously at the probe head that is accessible outside the bioreactor. For pumping filtrate, the probe is connected to an external peristaltic pump. For manual sampling conventional single-use syringes can be used.

- Membrane protective cage for very large bioreactors with high turbulences and high shear forces to prevent mechanical damage of the membrane holder
- Shorter version (90 mm length of the membrane) for reactors with limited space between wall and stirrer (reduced filtration capacity!)

- Extended version (extention 100 mm) for high bioreactors (insertion depth approx. 160 - 330 mm)
